He has also used raspberry pi\u2019s for dedicated server role functions such as an internal WordPress web site, an MQTT host, Unifi Controller, and a whole house generator home automation interface.\u00a0 Pictured above is the hardware for a dual door controller.\u00a0 It consist of a raspberry pi, a RPi relay hat, and a custom opto-isolated input hat.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/li>\n his home for over 40 years.\u00a0 He started using X10 products in the early days (40 years ago) \u200bof home automation.\u00a0 He utilized HomeSeer software for several years as the brain of the automation system.\u00a0 Eventually he phased out X10 devices in favor of <em>Insteon\u00a0<\/em>devices and\u00a0<em>Universal Devices\u2019 ISY controller<\/em> and recently their EISY.\u00a0 Going forward he is moving from Insteon to Z-wave, Zigbee, and Matter based devices and possibly to the open source <em>Home Assistant <\/em>platform.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/li>\n            <\/ul>\n
